| Only breeds pedigreed cats from Champion bloodlines and Knows the Kitten's Ancestry. A backyard breeder breeds cats that consist mostly of pets bred by other backyard breeders, these cats are generally not shown or of show quality or meet breed standard. Will be involved in showing cats and belong to cat clubs or select organizations (i.e. TICA). A backyard breeder isn't that into cats, isn't involved in the cat world, and doesn't stay on top of the latest medical protocols. Honestly evaluates a kitten's quality and only breeds cats which meet the Standard of the Breed. A backyard breeder claims all kittens are high quality and the breeding cats rarely meet breed standard. Places kittens and cats by Contract, which includes a Health Guarantee. Follows up on a kitten after the kitten has been adopted. Is Concerned with Temperament of their kittens and cats as well as health and spends Individual Time with each kitten and cat. Knows the different personalities of the kittens and attempts to match their temperaments with the buyers' personalities and lifestyles. A backyard breeder cares nothing of matching or understanding personality traits. Socializes kittens by handling and exposing them to people and various noises. A backyard breeder does not understand or want to be troubled with any kind of social training and tries to keep kittens out from underfoot until sold. Carefully Screens Kitten Inquiries; doesn't sell kittens to impulse buyers, interviews prospective buyers, & refuses to place a kitten in a home where he/she feels the kitten will be abused or receive substandard care. Interviews Prospective Owners and has Specific Requirements to be met, i.e. kitten/cat must be altered by age 6 months, & not allowed to roam freely outdoors, etc. |
Will allow visits of the kittens in their environment when feasibly Safe to do so. Makes the Well-being of New Mothers and Safety of her Kittens their utmost Priority. Does not have more cats and kittens then they are able to keep Clean, Healthy and Well Socialized. Provides a clean environment for the kittens and cats, vaccinates and offers a Written Health Guarantee. A backyard breeder will most likely have an unsanitary environment for the kittens and cats and they are not often taken to the vet for regular care, are not vaccinated, no health guarantee is offered, & quite often the kittens and cats are sickly. Keeps Other Studs Separate from Queens in heat - except for the specific male selected for the planned pairing.

"Dear Mari, Hi! I wanted to give you a quick update on me and "Bella!" We just moved to a new townhouse with stairs.... and Bella can't get enough of them! It's a whole new big house to play in! And she loves the big windows so she can lay in the sunshine - Haha! She is doing wonderful and is almost 6 months old! I attached a few more pics so you can see how big she's getting :) You breed beautiful, intelligent, loving cats and I'm so glad I have Bella from you! I get compliments on her all the time!! just wanted to say hello and I hope all is well!! I'll continue to keep you updated on how she's doing. :)

"Tiika is a true hunter, she is very playful, always playing with her favorite toys. She also likes water a lot, climbing into the kitchen sink in hopes of a stream and drink. She knows the word "birds" and watches them a lot from her perch and other vantage points in the house. She weighs around 9 lbs now and is very healthy."

"Matt loves "Saturn!" At first, he seemed timid with her, but Saturn was very persistent to get his attention and make him love her. She would not stop pursuing him until he broke down and held her, pet her, and loved her; now I think Matt is her favorite. She sits in his office all day on his lap or on the desk when he's working and in the afternoon when the sun is shining in his office, she sits by the window. At Night, if she isn't sleeping in Brandan's room, I always find her on Matt's back or snuggled by his head. She definitely takes to Brandan and Matt the most. She is always looking for them to hold her or pet her. She is definitely a family cat and loves the children and is very loving. She isn't aggressive at all - which I ran into a lot while looking at various other breeds, they just all seemed so cranky. I just couldn't pass her up when I saw her. I know it sounds crazy, but the minute I saw her picture, I knew I wanted her, and sure enough, when I saw her in person I knew that was how I still felt! She is a healthy happy little sun-loving critter. she is our little kitty queen and we love her."
